I found this book tag on Lauren’s Bookshelf. You can visit her original post here. I hope you’re Valentine’s Day has been enjoyable whether or not you’re in a romantic relationship. I’m single this Valentine’s Day and just wanted to have some fun with fictional romances! So, here are my answers to the questions that Lauren created in this tag.
Standalone Book You Love

Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
I don’t often read standalones. I read series quite a bit more. But this is one of my favorite standalone novels. It’s a cute YA Contemporary Romance with the characters going on a roadtrip across America. Morgan even went on the roadtrip described in the book in the opposite direction. It’s also a multimedia book that has music playlists, menus, pictures, etc. and it’s a style of writing that Morgan utilizes in some of her other novels.
Dystopian Book You Love

The Giver by Lois Lowry
I love this book. It’s a dystopia that appears like a utopia at first. It’s one of the few books I read for school that I actually enjoyed.
A Book That You Love But No One Else Talks About

Night World by L.J. Smith
I basically never see anyone talk about this book series. I know that L.J. Smith is the author of the Vampire Diaries books, but based on what I’ve heard, these books are actually better than the Vampire Diaries. This series is a paranormal romance series of companion novels that all connect. And I genuinely enjoyed these books in early high school.
Favorite Book Couple

Feysand
As of right now, Feyre and Rhysand is one of my all time favorite book couples. I’ve loved them since reading ACOMAF and I seriously love re-reading their story. I also honestly love that the characters are deeply flawed and I find that really realistic. Their unconditional love feels realistic to me as well.

Book That Other People Love But You Haven’t Read Yet

You Should See Me In A Crown by Leah Johnson
This Black and Queer romance is definitely on my TBR. I bought this book so soon after it released and I just haven’t gotten to it yet due to a long reading slump.
Book With Red On The Cover

From Blood and Ash
This is a very recent favorite book. And A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire put me in the biggest book hangover since reading A Court of Mist and Fury.
Book With Pink On The Cover

A Pho Love Story
This YA Romance sounds super fun and cute. Two characters, Bao and Linh, are put in the same vicinity and feelings spark amongst a family feud between the two.
You were given a box of chocolate, what fictional boyfriend/girlfriend would’ve given them to you

Dorian from Throne of Glass
Dorian canonically gave Celaena candy Throne of Glass so I think he would definitely get candy/chocolate for a S.O. for Valentine’s Day.

You are single on Valentine’s Day. What book would you read? What TV show would you watch? What movie would you watch?

Book: A Court of Mist and Fury
This is one of my favorite books to re-read so I think this is one of the books I’d read on Valentine’s Day.

TV Show: Riverdale
This is a show I’ve been re-watching several times lately. I have no shame in that. I just really enjoy the show and the characters.

Movie: How to Train Your Dragon
This has been my favorite movie basically since it came out. And I don’t think that will ever change. It’s one of the things that got me into fantasy in general and more specifically into dragons.
You are in the book store. All of a sudden you get shot with an arrow from Cupid. What new release will you love?

A Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I know that this book isn’t out until April, but I’m so excited for this book. A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire put me in the worst book hangover that I’ve had in a long time.
