Top 5 Wednesday: Favorite Characters

This week’s top 5 Wednesday is all about characters! These are some of my favorite characters. I obviously didn’t mention all my favs, but I certainly love the ones I mention.

1. Art3mis – Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

Art3mis is one of the main characters in Ready Player One. This book is one of my favs and I think Art3mis had a lot to do with it. While yes there is a small romance sub-plot, Art3mis very clearly shows that she is independent and can handle herself just fine. And that’s why I love her character so much.

2. Rhysand – A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas

Rhysand is such a great character. He’s got layers and he’s very complex in my opinion. Yes he’s done some not-so-great things, but Sarah doesn’t seem to ever dismiss it. Rather she writes it as something that he had to deal with and get over.

3. Aelin Ashryver Galathynius – Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas

I won’t go into Aelin too much because of spoilers, but I actually really like her character. Her complexity as the series progressed really drew me to loving her.

4. Jude Duarte – The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air trilogy) by Holly Black

Jude is honestly a badass who won’t take anyone’s crap. And I wish I could be more like that. I did find her a bit irritating at times, but I still loved reading her character growth over the three books in the trilogy.

5. Lara Jean Covey – To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

Lara Jean is a wholesome cinnamon roll that must be protected. She’s a romantic and just all around sweet. I love her style and her relationship with her family. It’s not terribly common for a contemporary book to have such a close and loving family. And I think it’s so great to see a character with that kind of relationship with her family.
